A legacy of client-first service, innovation, and independence.

For over 150 years, Moneta's legacy of innovation and independence has shaped our client-first approach.

Every milestone in our story strengthens our commitment to serving families with integrity, expertise, and lasting partnership.

  1. 1869

    Foundations in St. Louis

Moneta's story begins as Home Life Insurance Company, rooted in a pioneering spirit and a commitment to serving families.

  2. 1933

    Pioneering Comprehensive Planning

During the Great Depression, Home Life introduced "Planned Estates"—one of the first comprehensive financial planning approaches, focused on solving client problems, not selling products.

  5. 1989

    Independence & Fiduciary Commitment

Moneta became a Registered Investment Adviser (RIA), aligning the firm's interests solely with clients and embracing a fee-only, fiduciary model because that was the standard to which we already held ourselves.

  6. 1999

    Giving Back

The Moneta Group Charitable Foundation was established, reflecting a deep commitment to community impact and client values.

  7. 2004

    100% Principal Ownership

Moneta's Principals ensured the firm would remain independent and multi-generational, protecting clients from outside interests and ensuring continuity.

  8. 2006

    The Family CFO Approach

Moneta adopted the "Family CFO" tagline, reinforcing our role as a lifelong partner for families with complex wealth.

  9. 2015–2018

    One Firm, Many Solutions

Moneta centralized operations for greater efficiency and scale before launching a new brand identity, uniting many teams under one firm with a shared mission.

  10. 2019–2025

    National Growth, Local Service

Moneta expanded into new markets—Denver, Kansas City, Chicago, Boston, Boulder, and Philadelphia—by welcoming like-minded client-first teams to grow the firm's reach while strengthening our independent position free from private equity and outside shareholders.
